I am a Christian first, then a husband, father, and minister. I am blessed that the Lord has called my life and my family into His service. I am married to a beautiful woman, Julie Kunce, who is a talented musician and skilled graphic artist. We had our lovely daughter Bridgette Kunce in May of 2011 and my son Atticus Kunce in August of 2013.
I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and am the third child of five in my family. In the spring of 2002 I accepted Christ as my Savior and a few years later received a call to ministry. It was shortly after receiving my bachelor’s degree that I married my wife Julie who is both my best friend and greatest cheerleader, encouraging me to serve for the Glory of God. I have received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Missouri Baptist University and a Master’s of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. On September 23, 2012 I preached in view of a call at First Baptist Church of Bethany. It is incredibly humbling to be in His service at a church committed to God, sound doctrine, and their fellow neighbor.
CHURCH ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
It is with great pleasure that I serve a holy God. I was born in Wyoming but at an early age our family moved to Colorado. It was there that we as a family, attended a small country church. I accepted Christ as my Savior at the age of 10 years old. During the sermon I felt the Holy Spirit working in me and I made that step of faith during the invitation time. I remember being scared but yet having a feeling of comfort at the same time. My brother, who is also my twin brother, accepted him at the same time. Neither one of us knew the other was making the decision at the same time. We were both baptized in the small church and continued to attend the church until our family was relocated to Missouri.
The first love of my life is God and the second love is my husband. I am happily married to Greg Woodward who is not only my husband but my best friend. God has blessed us with 5 children. We have also been blessed with grandchildren, 14 to be exact. I enjoy time with my family and look forward to what God will do in the lives of our grandchildren.
I have been serving as Administrative Assistant for First Baptist Church of Bethany since July of 2009. During my time here God has led our church with a great staff of which I am pleased to work with. I am honored to be able to serve Him not only in my work as an administrative assistant but outside the church walls as well.
DEACON CHAIRMAN & CUSTODIAN
I was not born into a Christian family. My grandmother, who was a Christian, made sure I attended Sunday school and church regularly. During my teenage years I quit going as often. Even after marriage and having children I seldom attended church. I knew about Jesus but didn’t have a personal relationship with Him. In 1996 I began to have the desire to read the scriptures. It was then that I began to understand who Jesus was. After resisting the Holy Spirit for years, I made the decision one morning during the invitation to begin a relationship with Christ. I felt a definite peace within me when I finally made that decision.
In September of 1978 I married my wife Carma. We have two wonderful children, Brett & Mandy. We are also blessed to have four grandchildren, all of them whom I love very much.
I began serving as custodian in the fall of 2009. I also serve as Deacon Chairman.
